Hybrid cars are equipped with an internal combustion engine and use one or more electric motors and a battery pack that offers better mileage and zero emissions compared to the normal vehicle. Using regenerative braking and recovering the lost energy of braking to recharge the battery, they are made to run in either pure electric or gasoline mode, or both combined.
